Jack Quaid, known for his role in *The Boys*, has expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of starring in a *BioShock* movie. During a Reddit AMA that coincided with the release of his new film, *Novocaine*, Quaid shared that *BioShock* is among his all-time favorite games due to its rich and expansive lore, which he believes could be effectively adapted into a film or television series. He stated, "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time. I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
The potential for a *BioShock* movie has been a topic of interest, especially after producer Roy Lee revealed in July of the previous year that the project had undergone significant changes. Following shifts in leadership, the adaptation has been "reconfigured" to become a more personal and intimate film, influenced by budget cuts from Netflix. Although specific plot details remain under wraps, *Hunger Games* director Francis Lawrence is still set to helm the project. Lee mentioned, "The new regime has lowered the budgets. So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
In addition to his interest in *BioShock*, Quaid's striking resemblance to the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is based on Remedy writer Sam Lake, has caught the attention of fans. This resemblance has led to speculation about Quaid's involvement in a *Max Payne* project, especially given his role in the action-packed *Novocaine*. Quaid humorously acknowledged the comparisons, saying, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond *BioShock* and *Max Payne*, Quaid has a deep appreciation for video games, particularly those developed by FromSoftware. He has immersed himself in challenging titles like *Bloodborne*, *Sekiro*, and *Elden Ring*, and frequently uses Reddit to seek tips and strategies for overcoming the games' formidable bosses. Quaid confessed, "I'm a huge video game nerd. And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
