LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

May 27,2025 Author: Amelia

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to hit the shelves on May 1, 2025. These releases are part of Disney's grand celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which LEGO traditionally marks with a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, LEGO released Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, followed by the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year, fans can look forward to Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known as Slave I among long-time enthusiasts. The name was officially changed to Firespray Starship in 2021 following a request from Disney, likely due to sensitivities around the term 'slave'. Four years later, it seems the new name is here to stay.

The last 'large' version of this LEGO starship was released in 2019 to commemorate its 20th anniversary, featuring 1007 pieces and depicting the ship from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new 2025 version, boasting an impressive 2970 pieces, captures the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. This set is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
