How to Get Lightcrystal in Monster Hunter Wilds

Slaying monsters and capturing them is only half the battle in Monster Hunter Wilds. Crafting powerful armor and weapons requires gathering essential materials, and Lightcrystals are key. This guide details how to farm Lightcrystals and what you can create with them.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Lightcrystal Farming Locations

Lightcrystals are found by mining Mining Outcrops scattered throughout Monster Hunter Wilds. The drop rate is random, so be patient!

Here are the areas with Mining Outcrops you can farm:

  • Windward Plains: Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 17
  • Oilwell Basin: Areas 4, 6, 7
  • Iceshard Cliffs: Areas 8, 16
  • Ruins of Wyveria: Area 5

Mining Outcrops respawn in approximately 15-20 minutes. Feel free to explore other areas while waiting for them to replenish.

How to Use Lightcrystals in Monster Hunter Wilds

Once you've gathered enough Lightcrystals, head back to Gemma at Base Camp to forge or upgrade equipment. Lightcrystals are used in crafting the following items:

  • Guild Knight Sabers I
  • Dragon Perforator II
  • Dual Hatchets II
  • Triple Bayonet II
  • Iron Assault II
  • Iron Gale II
  • Chain Blitz II
  • Iron Accelerator II
  • Hyperguard II
  • Buster Sword II
  • Iron Hammer II
  • Metal Bagpipe II
  • Chrome Drill II
  • Iron Katana II
  • Iron Beater II
  • Ingot Vambraces
  • Thunder Charm III

Keep in mind that many of these items (excluding the Thunder Charm) may become obsolete relatively quickly as you progress. Don't be afraid to replace them with better gear as you find it.

That’s all you need to know about obtaining and using Lightcrystals in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more game tips, including a complete armor set list, be sure to check out The Escapist!
