Lunar Remastered Collection Release Date Announced

The highly anticipated Lunar Remastered Collection is set to launch on April 18th, bringing the classic JRPG duology to modern platforms. Developed by Game Arts and published by GungHo Online Entertainment, this collection will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S compatibility).

This remaster boasts updated visuals, a re-recorded soundtrack, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. These include fully voiced dialogue in Japanese and English, with added French and German subtitles. Players can also enjoy a classic mode to recapture the original PS1 aesthetic, alongside widescreen support and enhanced high-definition cutscenes. Gameplay enhancements feature a combat speed-up option and an auto-battle function with streamlined party management.

The collection's features are in line with modern JRPG remasters, mirroring similar additions seen in titles like the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and the upcoming Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster. The success of the Grandia HD Collection, a previous collaboration between Game Arts and GungHo Online Entertainment, suggests a positive outlook for the Lunar Remastered Collection.

Key Features:

  • Release Date: April 18th
  • Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC (PS5 & Xbox Series X/S compatible)
  • Enhanced Visuals: Renovated pixel art, high-definition cutscenes, widescreen support.
  • Audio Improvements: Fully voiced dialogue (Japanese & English), new French & German subtitles.
  • Quality-of-Life Features: Classic mode, combat speed-up, auto-battle.

The Lunar Remastered Collection promises a nostalgic yet modernized experience for both longtime fans and newcomers to this beloved JRPG series.
