When discussing the most iconic female characters in fighting games, three names immediately come to mind: Nina Williams, Chun-Li, and Mai Shiranui. While fans enjoyed seeing Nina and Chun-Li clash in Street Fighter x Tekken, it seems unlikely we'll witness their interaction again in the near future.
However, the same cannot be said for Mai Shiranui, who is set to join Street Fighter 6 as a new guest character. It appears far from coincidental that the developers have chosen to pit Mai against the legendary Chun-Li in her gameplay trailer. This matchup not only showcases Mai's skills but also highlights her integration into the Street Fighter universe.
Mai's trailer features several of her signature moves, with her super move looking particularly stunning. There's no doubt that Mai will become a fan-favorite in Street Fighter 6. Unfortunately, eager fans will have to wait a bit longer as Capcom has scheduled her release for February 5, rather than the hoped-for January.
With three more weeks to go, we hope the Street Fighter 6 team will keep the excitement alive by releasing more content, ensuring fans stay engaged and entertained until Mai's arrival.
