Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!
A recent announcement regarding the Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season update has cleared up confusion about a potential rank reset. Initially, a reset was planned for February 21st, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch. However, due to significant player feedback expressing concerns about the frequency of rank resets, NetEase Games has reversed this decision.
The Marvel Rivals team stated in a blog post that there will be no rank reset at the start of the second half of Season 1. Players will retain their current rank and score. To earn new rewards, including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor, players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end.
This decision demonstrates NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete at the top level.

Beyond the cancellation of the rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. While specific balance changes (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet, they are expected to impact the game's meta.
