Metaphor: ReFantazio Party Member Recruitment Guide: A Detailed Timeline

Beyond the protagonist, seven companions will join your quest in Metaphor: ReFantazio, each contributing unique combat skills. While Gallica is present from the outset, her combat participation is limited initially.

Note: This guide contains minor spoilers regarding party member recruitment timing.

Each party member joins on specific in-game dates, tied to story events. Some later additions may be surprising, so proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

Key Point: Each party member awakens to their Archetype. Once awakened, the Archetype becomes usable by other party members. Early recruits may be initially AI-controlled until their Archetype awakening.

Party Member Recruitment Schedule:

  • Strohl (Warrior): Joins on 6/5 (Border Fort events), but his Archetype awakens on 6/6 (Nord Mines), making him a controllable party member. Prior to this, he is AI-controlled.

  • Grius: Joins after the Border Fort events, but becomes a full party member on 6/6 after Strohl's Archetype awakening. Grius doesn't undergo a traditional Archetype awakening.

  • Hulkenberg (Knight): Begins interacting with the party on 6/10. Full party integration and Archetype awakening occur during the boss fight on 6/11.

  • Heismay (Thief): Appears during free time in Martira. His Archetype awakens and he joins the party on 7/4 within the town's main dungeon.

  • Junah (Masked Dancer): Present throughout the game, Junah joins the party upon her Archetype awakening on 8/13.

  • Eupha (Summoner): Eupha's recruitment offers more flexibility. During free time on Viraga Island (8/19-9/4), complete the Dragon Temple Dungeon. Eupha joins for the final boss on whichever day you complete the dungeon; however, her Bond can only be initiated after the deadline.

  • Basilio (Berserker): Awakens and joins the party during the Saint's Day events on 9/11. Combat usage is available the following day, if desired.
