In the ever-evolving world of Monster Hunter Now, Niantic is rolling out an exciting new feature called Monster Outbreaks for testing. This event is designed to gather player feedback to ensure it's finely tuned before becoming a permanent addition to the game. If you're eager to dive into this new challenge, here's everything you need to know.
When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?
The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks is scheduled from April 26th to 27th. Each day, you'll have two opportunities to participate, with sessions running from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time. This gives you plenty of chances to join in on the action over the weekend.
During these designated times, specific outbreak points on the map will swarm with 8-star Black Diablos. The goal is for you and other players to collaborate and defeat a total of 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak spot within the one-hour window. It's not a global tally, but rather a challenge specific to each location.
To participate, you must have reached at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Also, note that the party feature won't be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal. Outbreak points are easily identifiable on the map with a unique icon. Once you spot one, you can tap on it to view more details. There's even a sign-up roster at each location to coordinate with fellow hunters.
Black Diablos Is Rolling Up with Serious Boss Energy, in Swarm Mode!
The mechanics of the event are intriguing. If you team up with three other hunters and successfully take down a monster, that counts as four towards the 100 needed to complete the challenge. Should you reach the 100 mark before the hour is up, the fun doesn't stop there; you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the session.
Successfully hitting the 100-monster target comes with rewards. Your group will earn 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, if you use the sign-up roster, you'll have the chance to earn a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
