Fashion Hunting: The Ultimate Endgame

Monster Hunter Wilds Armor Sets Will No Longer Be Gender Exclusive

For years, Monster Hunter players have been limited by gender-locked armor. No more! Capcom announced at Gamescom's Monster Hunter Wilds Developer Stream that this restriction is a thing of the past. All characters will have access to all armor sets.

A Capcom developer confirmed the news, stating that unlike previous titles, "In Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s no more male and female armor. All characters can wear any gear." The online community erupted with excitement, particularly among "fashion hunters" who prioritize aesthetics. This change eliminates the frustration of being unable to wear desired armor simply due to its assigned gender.

Imagine wanting that stylish Rathian skirt as a male hunter, or the imposing Daimyo Hermitaur set as a female hunter – only to find it unavailable. This limitation, coupled with often stereotypical gendered designs (bulky for male, revealing for female), is finally removed.

The impact extends beyond aesthetics. Monster Hunter: World's gender change system, requiring paid vouchers after the initial free one, highlighted the cost of pursuing desired looks. Monster Hunter Wilds eliminates this hurdle.

While not officially confirmed, the likely inclusion of a "layered armor" system suggests players can mix and match appearances without compromising stats. This, combined with the removal of gender restrictions, unlocks a wealth of customization options.
