A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered compelling evidence suggesting the addition of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, reimagined as Quitalities. Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations within the game's files. Hara-Kiri finishers, initially seen in Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004), allow defeated players to inflict a self-inflicted fatality.
Intriguingly, InfiniteNightZ discovered these animations for recently added DLC characters like Ghostface, suggesting their inclusion in a future update rather than being scrapped. InfiniteNightZ noted the animations are labeled as "Quitalities" in the game's code, implying their activation upon a player quitting a multiplayer match, a feature present in previous Mortal Kombat titles. "After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible," InfiniteNightZ stated, expressing optimism about their implementation as Quitalities. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," they added.
Following InfiniteNightZ's discovery, prominent Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer Interloko unearthed further Hara-Kiri animations, confirming the trend. While the possibility remains that these animations may not be implemented, neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has officially commented on Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 recently saw renewed excitement with the addition of a secret fight featuring Floyd, the pink ninja, and the community's collaborative efforts to decipher his unlock conditions. Fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of the T-1000 guest character and the potential for further DLC, though official confirmation is pending.
