Neon Spellstorm Rogue-Lite Bullet Heaven Opens Pre-Registration

Neon Spellstorm, an upcoming action title from TopCog, is now available for pre-registration. This roguelite bullet heaven adventure shares a core thematic focus with the studio's other major releases: wizards. TopCog is known for titles like the Tap Wizard series and WizUp.

Race along a disintegrating neon highway

Players race along a neon path that collapses behind them while unleashing spells in every direction. You take on the role of a wizard in a low-tech cyberpunk universe, brought to life with pixel art and a deliberately glitchy aesthetic.

The game features 28 distinct spells to experiment with. You will combine effects such as echo, havoc, behemoth, and aftershock. Linking spells together creates more powerful synergies. Additionally, 74 unique trinkets allow for crafting wildly inventive character builds.

The random acquisition of spells and trinkets ensures no two runs are the same, maintaining a fresh and thrilling experience. As you progress, you'll collect Orbs, Stars, Gems, and Neon. These resources can be spent at the Neon Core to permanently unlock new upgrades and spells.

Neon Spellstorm employs a 2.5D mixed-media style, blending 2D sprites with low-poly 3D models for a distinctly unique hybrid visual identity. You can see the style in action below.

Before each run, you can customize your wizard. Choose from six different characters and select spells, fates, archetypes, and sigils to align with your strategic approach. Once the run begins, you also decide how to navigate the unfolding map.

Neon Spellstorm Android Pre-Registration is Live

Pre-registration is open on the Google Play Store. Upon release, a free demo will be available, with a single in-app purchase required to unlock the complete game. The anticipated mobile launch date is August 11th, 2025.

The developers have cited several acclaimed titles as inspirations for the game's style and mechanics, including Hades, Bastion, Risk of Rain 2, Slay the Spire, and TopCog's own Tap Wizard 2. We are hopeful the final game delivers on its promising potential.
