How to Get the Type-40 Sword in NieR: Automata

After defeating Adam and Eve at the end of Chapter 5, you’ll receive a call from Operator 6O. This message, titled "Investigating Communications," is time-sensitive, so complete it immediately.

1. Progress the Main Story: Complete the next chapter and the events of the Forest Castle (Chapter 6). Then, start Chapter 7.

2. Talk to Pascal and Ask About A2: Once Chapter 7 begins, explore the city ruins to trigger another call from Operator 6O. This call prompts the quest "Terminal Repairs."

3. Return to the Resistance Camp: As you head back to the camp, you’ll receive a final call from Operator 6O. This call mentions flowers and sends you a new message via your inbox.

4. Start "Find a Present": Interact with the message to begin the quest.

5. Complete "Find a Present": Upon finishing this quest, the Type-40 sword will automatically be delivered to your inbox as a reward.
