Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Breaks Into Applause As The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Speedrunner Beats Final Boss In Less Than 10 Minutes

At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner set an impressive record by completing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the new Nintendo Switch 2 within just 10 minutes. Japanese content creator Ikaboze achieved this feat using an existing save file, not knowing what equipment Link had. He challenged himself to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed," leading to a thrilling showdown with Ganon. Just seven minutes into the fight, Ganon was defeated, eliciting spontaneous applause from the onlookers.

What made Ikaboze's performance even more remarkable was his use of an unfamiliar controller amidst the noisy environment of the convention hall, which prevented him from hearing the game. "I was surprised by how many people had gathered," Ikaboze shared. "Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and integrates with the new "Zelda Notes" service available through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can access these enhancements by purchasing an "upgrade pack" for $10. Additionally, both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are available at no extra cost to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
