Nintendo Unveils App for Fans: News and Content Hub Launched

May 04,2025 Author: Skylar

Nintendo Today is a fresh app launched by the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news straight to fans in a more immediate and engaging way. During the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto unveiled this new initiative as a surprise announcement. Available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, this app promises a range of exciting features for avid Nintendo enthusiasts.

The Nintendo Today app functions as a comprehensive hub, serving as both a daily calendar and a real-time news feed, ensuring fans receive the latest updates as they happen. Miyamoto highlighted that following next week's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the app to stay updated with daily news. The app aims to keep fans engaged beyond major announcements by providing a continuous stream of content.

One of the unique aspects of Nintendo Today is its interactive nature, with beloved characters like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing residents greeting users daily. In addition to news, the app will feature exclusive Nintendo-themed content, such as the "Too Stuck to Pluck" Pikmin 4 comic and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal.

While Nintendo Today might not be the blockbuster announcement some were hoping for, such as news on Zelda or Super Smash Bros., it provides another valuable channel for fans to stay connected with the world of Nintendo. For further details on announcements like Metroid, Pokémon, and more from the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, you can find additional information here.
