Path of Exile 2's Early Access has players eager to master their chosen class. While not technically subclasses, Ascendancies offer powerful specializations with unique abilities. This guide details how to unlock and utilize them.
To unlock Ascendancy Classes, complete a Trial of Ascendancy. In Early Access, choose between the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas (recommended for early access to powerful abilities) or the Act 3 Trial of Chaos. Completing either unlocks Ascendancy selection and rewards you with two passive Ascendancy Points.
Early Access features six classes, each with two Ascendancies. More classes and Ascendancies are planned for full release.
Mercenary:
Witch Hunter: A buff-focused Ascendancy boosting offense, defense, and battlefield control. Skills like Culling Strike and No Mercy enhance damage output. Ideal for players who enjoy debuffing enemies and maximizing damage.
Gemling Legionnaire: Focuses on Skill Gems, allowing extra skills and added buffs. Offers flexibility for customized builds.
Monk:
Invoker: Harness elemental powers and inflict status effects. A melee-focused elemental powerhouse.
Acolyte of Chayula: Embrace shadow powers, offering defensive, healing, and damage-boosting abilities. A unique, shadow-based alternative.
Ranger:
Deadeye: Enhances ranged combat with increased speed, damage, and accuracy. Perfect for archer builds.
Pathfinder: Employs poison and elemental damage through abilities like Poisonous Concoction and Contagious Contamination. A unique alternative to the traditional bow-and-arrow Ranger.
Sorceress:
Stormweaver: Amplifies elemental abilities with Elemental Storm and increased damage. A solid choice for elemental casters.
Chronomancer: Manipulates time, affecting cooldowns and offering strategic combat options. Ideal for dynamic playstyles.
Warrior:
Titan: Focuses on massive damage and tankiness, enhancing defense and attack power. For players who enjoy a heavy-hitting tank role.
Warbringer: Summons Ancestral Spirits and Totems for additional damage and defense. A good choice for melee characters wanting summoned allies.
Witch:
Blood Mage: Drains enemy life to restore your own, boosting damage from wounds and curses.
Infernalist: Summons a Hellhound and shapeshifts into a fire-damage-dealing Demon form. Excellent for elemental damage and minion support.
