Pebbles vs. Herring: Best Choice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?

Apr 21,2025 Author: Violet

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, Henry faces the choice between two horses, Pebbles and Herring, to serve as his trusty steed throughout his journey. Both horses have their unique attributes, but let's delve into which one might be the better choice for Henry's adventures.

How To Find Pebbles in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

You'll reconnect with Pebbles at the Semine estate before the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes. She's waiting at the stables, and you'll need to purchase her to ride her during your quest with Jan Semine before the wedding, known as "The Jaunt." Pebbles is more than just a horse; she's Henry's loyal companion, akin to Mutt, whom you can also find through side quests.

How To Receive Herring in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

After completing the quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls," you have the option to take Herring as your new horse. If you haven't yet acquired Pebbles or another horse, Herring comes to you courtesy of Otto von Bergow. If you already have a horse and decide against Herring, you can negotiate a deal with Kabat to sell him to nomad traders for 300 Groschen.

Should You Choose Pebbles or Herring in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

At first glance, Herring may seem like the superior choice due to his higher base stats. However, this initial impression can be deceptive. Each horse unlocks a unique perk after being ridden for a specific distance, which significantly boosts their stats. This means that horses with higher base stats don't necessarily end up with the best stats in the long run.

Pebbles emerges as the top choice for several reasons. Although her base stats aren't the highest, her perk, which enhances her abilities, is unlocked after riding just 35 kilometers, compared to Herring's 50 kilometers. Post-boost, Pebbles boasts:

  • 217 stamina
  • 353 capacity
  • 53 speed
  • 12 courage

Not only can you acquire Pebbles for a lower price than many other horses, but you can also unlock her for free, making her a cost-effective and reliable option. Additionally, the sentimental value of Pebbles, having been Henry's companion before the game's events, adds to her appeal.

When deciding between Pebbles and Herring, Pebbles stands out as the best choice for Henry. Given the extensive traveling required in the game, having a dependable steed like Pebbles, who can be enhanced quickly and comes at a great value, makes her the ideal companion for Henry's journey.

*Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
