Pokemon Legends: Z-A: August 15, 2025 Release Date Leak
An Amazon UK listing briefly revealed a potential release date for Pokemon Legends: Z-A – August 15, 2025. This leak, spotted on January 8th, 2025 and quickly removed, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window. The game was initially announced during the 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations.
Following the success of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, this sequel promises a similar exploration-focused experience, prioritizing open-ended gameplay and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, details have been scarce.
February 2025 Confirmation Possible
The official release date might be unveiled during Pokémon Day 2025, expected on February 27th. This date coincides with the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green. Evidence supporting a February 27th Pokémon Day 2025 event has been found within the latest Pokémon GO game files by a dataminer.
Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially also debuting during the Pokémon Day 2025 presentation.
Switch and Switch 2 Compatibility
Initially announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon titles have featured paid DLC, Pokemon Legends: Arceus only received one free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
