Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to rally! IO Interactive has exciting news: their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, is set to grace the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive’s website, this game will delve into a fresh narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer shared, giving fans a taste of what to expect from the game's storyline.
Hakan Abrak, head of IO Interactive, provided insights into the development of this new origin story during an interview with IGN back in October. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak emphasized the novelty of crafting a completely original narrative, expressing hopes for a potential trilogy. "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
