Relic Entertainment Announces Earth vs. Mars Game

May 24,2025 Author: Oliver

Relic Entertainment, the masterminds behind Company of Heroes, are set to launch a new turn-based strategy game titled Earth vs. Mars this Summer on PC via Steam. In this thrilling new title, players will step into the shoes of Earth's defenders, tasked with repelling a Martian invasion through innovative and strategic means. One of the game's unique features is the Splice-O-Tron, a device that allows players to create bizarre and powerful creature-human hybrids such as the Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly. These creations are essential in the fight against the Martian forces, drawing inspiration from the classic Nintendo DS game, Advance Wars.

The narrative of Earth vs. Mars unfolds with a chilling backstory: for decades, Martians have been covertly visiting Earth, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Now, they've launched a full-scale invasion, leaving Earth's survival in the hands of a ragtag group of commanders. Players will take command of Earth's military, facing off against the high-tech Martian saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors in a desperate battle for survival.

Earth vs. Mars offers a rich gaming experience with over 30 missions in its single-player campaign, allowing players to dive deep into the battle against the Martian invaders. Additionally, the game features online multiplayer where players can choose to fight as either Earth or Mars, a VS Mode to test your strategies against the game's AI, and a map editor for those who wish to craft their own battlefields.

Justin Dowdeswell, CEO of Relic Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, "We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles. Relic Entertainment recently announced a new strategy: Alongside continuing to work on the traditional RTS titles that we’re known for, we’re also going to work on smaller Indie style games in order to explore new sub-genres, experiment, get our creative juices going, and release games more frequently." For those eager to get their hands on Earth vs. Mars, the game is available for wishlisting on Steam.
