Rivals Update 9 Introduces the Gunblade and Bridge Map as Nosniy Prepares to Add Ranked Mode

The popular first-person shooter PvP experience on Roblox, Rivals, has just rolled out Update 9, introducing the innovative Gunblade weapon and the new Bridge map to its ever-growing arsenal of content. Developer Nosniy Games has shared detailed patch notes for this update, which, while shorter than some of the recent updates, still promises to keep players engaged with its fresh additions.

Rivals enthusiasts are known for their love of the game's FPS mechanics and its diverse weaponry, and the Gunblade is set to become a fan favorite. This unique weapon combines the functionality of a rifle with a melee blade, offering players a versatile tool to outsmart their opponents. The new Bridge map, set in Seoul and designed by creator @GreatGuyBoom, complements the Gunblade perfectly. This map features a compact, concrete environment that forces players into intense close-quarters combat right from the start, with minimal cover provided by concrete walls and a bus.

Interestingly, the patch notes for Rivals Update 9 do not include any specific bug fixes, balance changes, or quality-of-life improvements. Nosniy Games has opted to focus solely on the new Bridge map and the Gunblade. However, they did make minor adjustments to the skins of the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, and renamed several other items. The developers have assured fans that more comprehensive updates, including the much-anticipated Ranked feature, are on the horizon.

"We hear all of your feedback and want to reassure you all that every necessary & additional changes/improvements will be made in time for Ranked," the team stated, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing the game based on player input.

NEW SPECIAL CHALLENGES!

The Winter Spotlight has been removed and replaced with a brand new set of challenges! Complete a series of tasks on the new Bridge map to earn keys & the limited time Bungeoppang charm!

OTHER

The Demon Shorty & Demon Uzi skins have been slightly modified. The Hexxed Flare Gun skin, Hexxed Candle skin, and Hexxed wrap have been renamed to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, & Vexed respectively.
