采用2.5D像素艺术，《Threads of Time》让玩家扮演来自不同时代的一群个性鲜明的角色，踏上横跨多个纪元的奇幻冒险之旅。游戏故事跨越数个世纪——从“恐龙时代到机械机器人时代”，最终将引导玩家揭开一个影响“时间本身结构”的阴谋。除了像素艺术画面，《Threads of Time》还包含精美的动画过场动画，展现游戏错综复杂的情节。
