Lenovo Legion Go Handheld Gaming PC Slashed by $200

Jan 14,2026 Author: Evelyn

Just in time for Amazon Prime Day, Amazon has dropped the lowest price we've ever seen on a top-tier Windows gaming handheld. You can now snag the Lenovo Legion Go, featuring an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU and 512GB of storage, for just $499.99 after an instant 30% discount. The Legion Go offers a larger, higher-resolution screen, detachable controllers, and a bigger battery than the Asus ROG Ally. Plus, with Valve's SteamOS now widely available, you can install it and effectively transform this device into a supercharged Steam Deck.

The Lenovo Legion Go is a Windows 11 gaming handheld powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU with Radeon graphics and 16GB of RAM—the same core hardware found in the $700 Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme and ROG Ally X. It features a larger, sharper 8.8-inch 2560x1600 144Hz IPS touchscreen and detachable controllers reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch. Running Windows 11, the Legion Go is compatible with most PC game platforms, including Steam, Origin, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, Genshin Impact, Battle.net, and others.

In her Lenovo Legion Go review, Jacqueline Thomas noted that "it easily ranks as the best handheld gaming PC available today based on screen size, performance, and USB-C port placement, though there are some trade-offs. The device is quite bulky, and the 1600p display often exceeds what the chip can handle effortlessly. This means you'll need to spend time adjusting—and typically lowering—graphics settings to get games running smoothly. Battery life is also a limitation, and you're naturally paying more than for a Steam Deck OLED to get the larger display, a full Windows 11 license, and extra power. But if you love the Nintendo Switch concept—removable controllers, a sturdy built-in kickstand, and the ability to prop up the screen and play comfortably—this is the device for you."

Since that review was published, the Asus ROG Ally X has launched, competing directly with the Legion Go for the title of best gaming handheld. However, the Ally X is significantly more expensive, currently priced at $899.99 at Best Buy—$400 more than the Legion Go. That makes the Legion Go a far better value for your money.

If you decide to take advantage of this deal, we recommend pairing it with a portable power bank for longer gaming sessions on the go and a microSD card for extra storage. We've previously compared the Steam Deck to the ROG Ally; while the Legion Go wasn't included, that article highlights the key differences between SteamOS and Windows-based gaming handhelds.
