Apr 19,2025Author: Camila
Ubisoft is setting sail for an ambitious Year 2 for Skull and Bones, promising to make it the most expansive year yet for the pirate multiplayer game. The upcoming year will be packed with exciting new content, including new game modes, ships, the introduction of a Kraken, and a much-anticipated feature: land combat.
During a special Year 2 showcase that aired yesterday, Ubisoft unveiled their plans for the next year's updates. The highlight of the presentation was Season 3: Guts and Glory, scheduled for this fall, which will finally introduce the land combat that fans have been clamoring for since the game's initial launch last February.
In Season 3, players will have the opportunity to engage in swordfights and use firearms on land as part of the Rogue Warlord additions. This new feature will allow players to explore sandy beaches and damp caves to rescue skilled crewmembers called Officers. A teaser video gave a glimpse of what to expect, though full details will be revealed later this year.
While land combat is the star of Skull and Bones Year 2, the showcase revealed more content to keep players engaged throughout 2025. Season 1, Ascent into Chaos, launches today, April 15, introducing an item ascension feature for enhanced loot, challenging World Tiers, a new Schooner medium ship, and the team-based Death Tides PvP mode. Season 2: Oaths of War, set for summer 2025, will bring Megaforts and the imposing Frigate large ships. Finally, Season 4: Eye of the Beast, arriving this winter, will introduce the Kraken, Hunter’s Guild, and the Corvette large ship.
If you're intrigued by these updates, you'll be pleased to know that Skull and Bones is offering a free weekend from April 17 – 21. This is a perfect opportunity for players to dive into pirate PvP and take advantage of a discounted purchase price, which will be announced soon.
