Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Early Access Plagued with Server Issues
Still Hit a Milestone on Steam, Though!
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 experienced a challenging launch day, marked by various technical difficulties. The game, which entered early access earlier this week, has seen players report issues such as server connectivity problems, FPS drops, stuttering, black screens, and endless loading times. A significant concern has been the "Joining Server Bug" in the PvE Operations mode, where players are often left stuck on a server connection screen without any progress.
In response, Focus Home Entertainment has actively engaged with the community. In a recent post, they expressed gratitude for the feedback and confirmed that they are diligently working on solutions. "First off, we wanted to thank you for reporting your issues and providing us with feedback. We’re currently working to find fixes," they stated. The post also addressed other common problems, including crashes during initial cinematic scenes and issues related to controllers.

Focus Home also clarified that linking Steam and Epic accounts is not mandatory for playing the game. "Please be aware linking your Steam and Epic accounts is not required to enjoy the game. These features are entirely optional and will not affect your gameplay experience in any way," they noted in their post.
For players facing server issues, a temporary workaround is to retry matchmaking if they are sent back to the main menu or the Battle Barge following a failed connection attempt. While this may not be ideal, it could help some players until a more permanent solution is rolled out. For additional solutions, be sure to check out our comprehensive guide at the link below!
