Stalker 2:

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, discovering the secrets of The Zone often involves interacting with NPCs, leading to quests ranging from small tasks to substantial side missions like "For Science!". This mission begins with a rendezvous between Skif and Yaryk Mongoose at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant.

Initiating "For Science!":

To start "For Science!", locate Yaryk Mongoose within the Central Elevator area. Upon approaching, you'll hear Mongoose contact Skif via radio, requesting a meeting. Enter the Central Elevator, proceed left past the conveyor belts, and climb the rusted stairs. Mongoose is on the first floor; vault the railing to reach him. He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a silo, initiating the quest.

Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and ascend to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. A room with broken windows provides access to an external walkway via a ladder. Cross the walkway to the silos, equipping your boltcaster to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the device.

The Bloodsucker Encounter:

Activating the device alerts a Bloodsucker horde. You can choose to engage or evade them to reach Mongoose.

Confronting Mongoose:

Upon reaching Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. You can choose to kill Mongoose or accept his reward. Neither choice significantly impacts the game's progression. Choosing the non-hostile option rewards you with the Malachite Pass and coupons, granting access to the STC Malachite facility (unless already accessible via main missions). The Malachite Pass can also be looted from Mongoose's body if you choose to eliminate him.
