Star Wars Tactics Game Unveiled at 2025 Celebration

Apr 24,2025 Author: Christian

Get ready, Star Wars fans! EA is set to unveil its highly anticipated turn-based tactics game at Star Wars Celebration 2025. This exciting new project comes from Bit Reactor, a studio formed by veterans of Firaxis Games, renowned for their work on the beloved XCOM series. Bit Reactor has been collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment, the creators behind the Star Wars Jedi series, to bring this unique strategy game to life. Mark your calendars for April 19, as the game will be showcased in a live panel featuring the lead developers from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games.

While details about the game are scarce, including the specific Star Wars era it will be set in and the exact gameplay mechanics, the involvement of XCOM alumni suggests a thrilling tactical experience infused with the rich lore of the Star Wars universe. Fans can expect a deep and engaging strategy game that promises to capture the essence of the galaxy far, far away.

In other Star Wars gaming news, Respawn Entertainment continues to develop the third installment of their Star Wars Jedi trilogy, though it won't be making an appearance at this year's Celebration. Unfortunately, Respawn also had to cancel a planned first-person shooter featuring a Mandalorian protagonist due to a significant restructuring at EA, which resulted in the loss of around 670 jobs. Additionally, an early-stage multiplayer first-person shooter project was quietly canceled, affecting an unknown number of team members.

Beyond gaming, Star Wars Celebration will also feature sneak peeks at other exciting projects. Lucasfilm will offer a first look at the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, set to hit theaters in May 2026, as well as a preview of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3. With so much to look forward to, Star Wars Celebration 2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable event for fans of the franchise.
