The new trailer unveiled today at Summer Game Fest gives us our first listen to celebrated voice actor Troy Baker in his latest, surprising role: a hard-boiled, crime-solving mouse, the star of "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire."
In "MOUSE," Baker portrays private detective Jack Pepper, a former war hero turned gumshoe—who also happens to be a rodent. The case kicks off with a classic dame walking through his door with a problem, but his investigation quickly spirals into a sprawling adventure, uncovering murder, corruption, and far more across the shadowy streets of Mouseburg.
"MOUSE" is a 3D first-person shooter that immediately captivates with its classic cartoon aesthetic, reminiscent of the retro style seen in "Cuphead." The game draws direct inspiration from 1930s noir films and perfectly captures that distinctive look and mood.
Baker is renowned for his iconic performances in major game titles, including Joel in "The Last of Us," Indiana Jones in "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," Booker DeWitt in "BioShock Infinite," Sam Drake in "Uncharted 4," and Higgs Monaghan in "Death Stranding" and its upcoming sequel.
"MOUSE: P.I. for Hire" is slated for release later this year on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. The game is being developed by Fumi Games.
