Live-Action ‘Driver’ Series Shelved

Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the much-anticipated live-action show adaptation of Driver, their iconic series of action-adventure driving games, will not be moving forward. Initially announced in 2021, the series was set to stream exclusively on Binge.com, fulfilling Ubisoft’s vision to "bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming," according to Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik.
The decision to halt the project came after the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, one of Ubisoft's movie-related subsidiaries named after Driver’s protagonist, in January. "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series," a Ubisoft spokesperson informed Game File.
However, Driver enthusiasts need not despair. Ubisoft is steadfast in their commitment to the franchise, stating that they are "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise." While specific details remain under wraps, Ubisoft is eager to unveil these new initiatives to the world in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates on what's next for Driver!
