Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Updates
The Arrival of Ultron
The upcoming Season 2.5 update introduces Ultron as a new playable character. NetEase Games officially announced through Twitter (X) on May 23 that Ultron will join the roster on May 30 following maintenance.
According to Marvel Rivals' Dev Vision Vol. 06, Ultron serves as a Strategist capable of sustaining allies with healing abilities. As the only Strategist with flight capabilities, he enables innovative aerial team compositions. His primary weapon delivers three low-damage bursts followed by a powerful finishing attack.

Ultron deploys drones to heal teammates, with abilities that provide overhealing effects for attached heroes and nearby allies. His Ultimate skill combines area damage with team healing.
The update includes Ultron's X-Tron skin, inspired by his Cerebro takeover storyline, and Groot's Norse Mythology-themed Yggroot skin. These cosmetic items become available post-maintenance, though pricing details remain undisclosed.
Season 2.5 Launch Details
Season 2.5 launches on May 30 after a 2-3 hour maintenance window starting at 2 AM PDT / 9 AM UTC. The update brings numerous hero balance changes:
- Captain America health reduction
- Doctor Strange damage buff
- Emma Frost range increase

The update introduces Arrako as a new battleground, continuing the narrative from Hellfire Gala where Ultron retreated after his attack. Players can also participate in the Cerebro Database II event from May 30 to June 27 to earn Hawkeye's Binary Arrow costume.
Gameplay Enhancements

Season 2.5 features:
- 6 new team-up abilities
- 4 removed team-ups
- Return of fan-favorite Jeff-Nado combo

A limited-time "Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol" mode launches June 6, offering strategic hero-building mechanics resembling auto-chess gameplay.
Future seasons will shorten from 3 months to 2 months beginning with Season 3, implementing monthly hero releases instead of bi-seasonal additions.

Marvel Rivals continues expanding its roster and refining gameplay mechanics across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
