Vampire Hunters in Bloodlines 2: What to Expect

In a recent development update from The Chinese Room, new details have emerged about the vampire hunters in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. The faction, known as the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB), operates covertly on a shadow budget, without any official government backing. These hunters, who target vampires they call "Hollow Ones," cleverly disguise their activities as "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism efforts."

Leading the IAB's operations in Seattle is Agent Baker, a disciplined and pragmatic leader known for her relentless pursuit to eradicate vampires permanently. She meticulously investigates unusual incidents and delves into historical data to uncover the connections to the elusive vampire community. Her firm command and dedication have earned her the nickname "The Hen" among her devoted subordinates.

The hunters of the IAB are highly organized and fiercely protect their base with both external and internal security measures. Confronting them solo is daunting, as they work in coordinated teams, use spotlights for surveillance, and maintain constant communication via portable radios. In combat, they wield thermic batons that can penetrate defensive tactics and deploy phosphorous grenades to flush out adversaries from hiding. Their sniper crossbows launch explosive bolts, which can cause severe damage if not promptly extracted.

Despite their formidable presence, these hunters have vulnerabilities. They are physically less robust than ghouls and vampires, making them susceptible to specific countermeasures. For instance, players can use the Fire skill to intercept grenades or bolts in mid-air and hurl them back at the hunters. Additionally, members of the Ventru clan can utilize their unique powers to possess an enemy, turning them against their own squad.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is set to be released in the first half of 2025, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This eagerly awaited game promises to immerse players in a thrilling narrative filled with strategic challenges and supernatural encounters.
