Victoria Hand's Mechanics
Victoria Hand is a 2-cost, 3-power card with the ongoing ability: “Your cards created in your hand have +2 Power.” This functions similarly to Cerebro, but only for cards generated in your hand, not your deck (rendering it ineffective with cards like Arishem). Key synergies exist with cards such as Maria Hill, Sentinel, Agent Coulson, and Iron Patriot. Early on, be mindful of Rogues and Enchantresses attempting to counter her effect. Her 2-cost Ongoing nature allows for strategic late-game deployment.
Top Victoria Hand Decks (Day 1)
Victoria Hand's best synergy is with the season pass card, Iron Patriot, which generates a high-cost card with a cost reduction. These two cards are often seen together in decks. One such deck revives the Devil Dinosaur archetype:
- Maria Hill, Quinjet, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sentinel, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Agent Coulson, Shang-Chi, Wiccan, Devil Dinosaur (Copy this list from Untapped)
This deck utilizes Hydra Bob (replaceable with a 1-cost alternative like Nebula), but Kate Bishop and Wiccan are crucial. Victoria Hand significantly boosts Sentinel, turning generated Sentinels into powerful 2-cost, 5-power cards (or 7-power with Mystique). A Quinjet further amplifies this effect. Wiccan provides a late-game power surge, potentially combining with Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand for a decisive victory. If Wiccan fails to activate, Devil Dinosaur provides a fallback plan.
Another deck incorporates the often-reviled Arishem, even though Victoria Hand doesn't directly impact cards added to the deck:
- Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Sentinel, Valentina, Agent Coulson, Doom 2099, Galactus, Daughter of Galactus, Nick Fury, Legion, Doctor Doom, Alioth, Mockingbird, Arishem (Copy this list from Untapped)
This deck leverages card generation, keeping opponents guessing. While Victoria Hand doesn't buff Arishem's summoned cards, the generated cards from other sources receive the boost.
Is Victoria Hand Worth the Investment?
Victoria Hand is a valuable addition for players enjoying hand-generation strategies, particularly when paired with Iron Patriot. Her powerful effect will likely see continued meta relevance. However, she isn't a must-have, collection-defining card. The upcoming cards this month are considered weaker, making Victoria Hand a potentially worthwhile investment of Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens.
