Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord located within the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is situated southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer Board Game: A Strategic Advantage
Inside, players encounter a six-piece board game. Controlling the black pieces, players aim to create a three-piece line before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. Exiting the game preserves piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for buff removal. Winning before buff removal is strongly discouraged, as the Lifer immediately attacks.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer possesses seven buffs, four removable using the Stake of Imbalance. These buffs are visible on a glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (using Stake of Imbalance):
Permanent Buffs (cannot be removed):
Obtaining the Stakes of Imbalance
Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a glowing white Stake of Imbalance. Challenges include defeating Tacet Discords or breaking Friable Rocks in some rooms.
Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful buff removal.
Defeating the Lifer
After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Its attacks pose minimal threat.
Rewards for defeating the Lifer include Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests, depending on the number of victories (up to three). Buffs can be re-enabled for a more challenging fight, though no achievements are tied to this.
Lifer Achievements
For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. The Lifer will eventually make mistakes.
