In the first half of January 2025, Xbox Game Pass mainly saw shifts of Ultimate-only games to the Standard tier. The notable new additions included the original Diablo for PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 for Ultimate subscribers. Microsoft has yet to officially announce the second wave of Xbox Game Pass games for January 2025, but we are aware of at least one more title slated for release this month.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will debut on Xbox Game Pass on its release date, January 21, 2025, and will be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers at first. This skiing game introduces both co-op and PvP modes on its launch day.

These include Eternal Strands on January 28, Sniper Elite: Resistance on January 30, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector on January 31.
Among these new additions, Eternal Strands stands out. Developed by Yellow Brick Games, a studio headed by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw, this action-adventure game exudes a strong Zelda influence. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy these and other January 2025 games without any additional cost beyond their subscription fee.
Looking ahead to February 2025, the lineup currently appears sparse, with Avowed scheduled for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on February 18. As subscribers eagerly await further announcements for February 2025, they can dive into the exciting day one releases of January 2025 on Xbox Game Pass.
