The new MacBook Air is available in two sizes: 13-inch and 15-inch, catering to different preferences for portability and screen size. The 13-inch model is priced at $999, a $100 reduction from the previous generation, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,199. The M4 chip significantly boosts the laptop's performance, featuring a baseline configuration of a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. For those seeking more power, customization options include a 10-core GPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage.
Externally, the most noticeable update is the introduction of a new color: Sky Blue, a subtle blue-tinted silver. Other color options include Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), and Silver. Note that Space Gray is no longer an option. Each MacBook Air comes with a matching MagSafe charging cable.
The built-in webcam, now dubbed the "Center Stage camera" by Apple, has been upgraded to a 12-megapixel sensor, promising clearer video calls on FaceTime.
