The cult-classic mobile game, 868-Hack, is making a comeback with a new crowdfunding campaign for its sequel, 868-Back. If you've ever dreamed of experiencing the thrill of hacking into cyberpunk mainframes, this roguelike digital dungeon crawler is your chance to live that fantasy.
Cyber warfare often seems more exciting in concept than in reality. While it's not quite like Angelina Jolie's smooth network infiltration in Hackers, 868-Hack and its upcoming sequel aim to capture that hacker vibe. Similar to the PC puzzler Uplink, these games simplify the complex world of programming and information warfare into a challenging yet accessible experience. When 868-Hack first released, it successfully delivered on its promise, and now 868-Back aims to elevate that experience even further.
In 868-Back, players can continue to string together Progs to create intricate sequences of actions, much like real-life programming. This sequel expands the game world, remixes and reimagines the Progs, and introduces new rewards, graphics, and sound enhancements.
Hack the planetThe grungy art style and cyberpunk vision of 868-Hack are undeniably appealing. Given the challenges developers face, supporting this crowdfunding campaign feels right. However, there's always a risk involved, and while it would be disappointing, we can't guarantee that issues won't arise.
Nonetheless, we all wish Michael Brough the best of luck in bringing 868-Back to life!
