The short answer is that you can continue to engage with nearly everything available before completing the main quest. Assassin’s Creed Shadows features a sprawling open world set in Feudal Japan, brimming with side content that remains accessible even after you've finished the main storyline. You're encouraged to delve deeper into the world, exploring all it has to offer.
Additionally, post-launch, the Animus will introduce new weekly challenges for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, ensuring there's always something fresh to do, even after achieving 100% completion.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained
After the credits roll, your journey may not be fully complete. In my experience, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board, along with the main quests of Yasuke and Naoe. However, I hadn't yet earned the trophy for completing Act 3 or The Epilogue. To unlock the true ending and the epilogue, you need to finish the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro, and then return to the Hideout to speak with Tomiko. This will grant you the complete ending and associated achievements in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Towards the end of the game, you'll also unlock exclusive gear sets themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These sets not only come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist's playstyle but also feature designs that will resonate with longtime fans of the Assassin’s Creed series.
As for endgame content, you can continue to level up until reaching the game's maximum level cap, long after the credits have rolled.
