For fans of realistic driving simulations, January 16th, 2025 marks a significant date. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is launching Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO into Steam Early Access.
At launch, players will experience 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, the developers promise already impressive physics, handling, and realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roam mode, allowing for unconstrained exploration. A major summer 2025 update is planned, introducing roads surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. This fully laser-scanned open world will eventually span up to 1600 square kilometers, expanding gradually over time.
Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO aims to challenge established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic graphics and advanced physics.
The initial release will feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more to be added via free future updates. Each circuit will accurately replicate real-world conditions, including tire wear and wet track surfaces, enhanced by realistic spectator animations.
The developers have also refined vehicle dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. Driving Academy mode, a planned single-player activity in Early Access, will challenge players to complete specified tracks within time limits, ultimately earning a license to access the game's most prestigious vehicles.
