How to Reset Your Character in Avowed (and When to Do It)
Starting a new game can make it tough to know which character build you’ll enjoy most. That’s where resetting comes in. If your character’s playstyle isn’t clicking, consider a reset. I found this crucial in Avowed when my initial wizard build struggled, prompting a switch to a spellsword. Later, resetting can help optimize your build for tougher battles, ensuring you craft the perfect setup for your playstyle.
How to Reset Abilities in Avowed
To reset abilities in Avowed, access the menu and go to the “Abilities” section. At the bottom, you’ll find a “Reset Points” option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, though this increases as you progress. Select the option, confirm, and pay the listed price. This will clear all ability points across your skill trees, except for “Godlike” abilities, which are tied to in-game decisions and cannot be altered.
How to Reset Attributes in Avowed
If you’re satisfied with your abilities but want to tweak your attributes—or overhaul everything—go to the “Character” section in the menu.
At the bottom, below the attribute names, you’ll see a button and its associated cost. Like abilities, the cost rises over time, starting at 100 Copper Skeyt. Press the button, pay the fee, and enjoy your reclaimed attribute points.
How to Reset Your Companion in Avowed
To reset your companion in Avowed, open the menu and head to the “Abilities” section, then switch to the “Companions” tab. Below your companion’s name, an icon indicates the button to press and the Copper Skeyt cost. Press it, confirm your choice, and you’ll recover all of that companion’s points.
Note that each companion must be reset individually.
