Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives two classic game modes and a beloved map this week, hot on the heels of its launch and a recent update addressing player-reported bugs.
Infection and Nuketown Arrive This Week
Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops 6, announced via Twitter (X) the imminent arrival of the popular "Infected" mode and the iconic Nuketown map. Infected, a fan-favorite party mode, drops tomorrow, pitting players against AI-controlled zombies. Nuketown, a map first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010) and inspired by 1950s American nuclear test sites, will launch on November 1st. Activision previously confirmed plans for regular post-launch content additions, bolstering Black Ops 6's initial launch lineup of 11 standard multiplayer modes (including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode).

Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Post-Launch Issues
A recent update tackled various multiplayer and Zombies mode issues. Improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in several key modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight). Activision stated they are actively monitoring XP rates across all modes to ensure fair progression. Key fixes include:
- Global: Resolved loadout highlighting, Bailey operator animation issues, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
- Maps: Addressed exploits allowing players to leave designated play areas on Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card maps. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also enhanced.
- Multiplayer: Fixed matchmaking issues that occasionally prevented quick player replacements, and prevented private matches from forfeiting with zero players on a team. The persistent Dreadnought missile sound effect has also been addressed.

Further fixes for outstanding issues, such as player deaths during loadout selection in Search & Destroy, are planned. Despite these post-launch challenges, Black Ops 6 is widely considered one of the best recent Call of Duty titles, particularly praising its engaging campaign.
