Unlocking the "Under the Straw Hat" Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Several quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 require reaching Kuttenberg before activation. Once there, inter-region travel opens up. This guide details completing the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest.

Prerequisites: The "In Vino Veritas" Quest

Before tackling "Under the Straw Hat," you must initiate "In Vino Veritas." This quest begins in Kuttenberg. Speak with Casper Rudolf, located west of the city, offering free wine samples. He needs information to improve his wine.

You can either directly approach Havel with your wine knowledge or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and study it. Approaching Havel directly requires fine clothing and cleanliness. If you choose this route, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" during your conversation to obtain the necessary information. Return this information to Casper.

Accessing the Vineyard

Casper will then instruct you to infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid trespassing by using the main road. Speak with the recruiter at the vineyard's entrance; this triggers the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue to the estate, past a guard, to find Jerome. Inform him of your assigned task.

Working at the Vineyard

Work begins the following day. Return to the vineyard in the morning. For payment, move sacks and harvest thistles. Alternatively, you can directly locate the secret incense.

The incense is in the cellar of the main building. Access requires lockpicking or stealing Jerome's keys. Retrieve the Sulphur Wicks from the cellar chest. This completes the primary objective. For a larger reward, collect five seedlings (located across the building from the main entrance – be quick to avoid detection).

After completing your tasks (or not), report back to Casper with the wicks and any collected seedlings. This concludes both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." Proceed to other quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys."
