Halo Infinite's Competitive Scene Gets a Boost with New S&D Extraction Mode
While other titles may steal the spotlight, Halo Infinite continues to receive regular content updates. The latest addition is S&D Extraction, a new competitive game mode designed to deliver a strategic and engaging experience.
Inspired by Counter-Strike, S&D Extraction puts a unique spin on the classic bomb defusal formula. Two teams of four players face off, with one team designated as attackers, tasked with planting a device, and the other as defenders. Teams switch roles after each round, with the first team to win six rounds claiming victory.
A key element of S&D Extraction is its dynamic economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, which they can then use to purchase equipment at the start of each round. The cost of items fluctuates based on player performance, adding a layer of strategic decision-making. All purchased gear is lost at the end of each round.
Pricing reflects item effectiveness and power; expect cheaper options early in the match, escalating costs mid-game, and potentially even more expensive gear available later if players strategically save their earnings. Respawning after elimination will also be a purchasable option.
S&D Extraction is scheduled for release in Halo Infinite in 2025, promising a thrilling and competitive addition to the game.
