Golden Hands can randomly appear in any dungeon in Persona 4 Golden, popping up in the overworld or surprising you from treasure chests. As you progress through the game, each dungeon's Golden Hands become progressively tougher, making them some of the most challenging foes to conquer.
Despite their difficulty, defeating Golden Hands is highly rewarding, granting your party a substantial amount of XP. In Yukiko's Castle, you'll encounter the Happiness Hands, and here's how to tackle them early in your adventure.
Happiness Hand Affinities In Persona 4 Golden
Happiness Hands boast a formidable resistance to all elemental damage. The key to defeating them lies in exploiting their vulnerability to Physical damage. While Almighty damage is typically effective against Golden Hands, it's not a viable option this early in the game. Happiness Hands generally don't deal significant damage and may occasionally waste their turn, but they'll attempt to flee if given the opportunity.
If they manage to hit a weakness or score a critical hit, they'll make a run for it. When facing a group, focus on taking down one Happiness Hand at a time to increase your chances of success, as you'll be fortunate to defeat even one before they escape.
How To Beat Happiness Hands In Persona 4 Golden
To effectively combat Happiness Hands, start by fusing an Orobas, which comes equipped with the Hysterical Slap skill. This move not only strikes twice but also has a chance to inflict Rage, causing the Happiness Hand to use its basic attack and stay put instead of fleeing. You can fuse Orobas using the following combinations:
- Apsaras + Forneus
- Apsaras + Slime
Before engaging a Happiness Hand, ensure your entire party is fully healed. This allows everyone to concentrate on using HP-consuming physical attacks without distractions. Have Yosuke utilize Sonic Punch, Chie use Skull Cracker, and the Protagonist employ Hysterical Slap, repeating these actions until the Happiness Hand falls. Success in this battle heavily depends on luck due to the limited options available early in the game, but defeating a Happiness Hand will significantly boost your party's levels.
When you knock a Happiness Hand down, avoid using an all-out-attack unless you're confident it will finish the job. Otherwise, the Happiness Hand will get back up and make its escape.
