Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now open for pre-registration on iOS and Android. This Tencent-developed title, launching late January 2025, marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, blending diverse missions and tactical gameplay.
While the Delta Force name may not resonate with everyone, its legacy in FPS gaming predates even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's special forces unit, the game emphasizes realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the franchise. Expect large-scale battles in Warfare mode (reminiscent of Battlefield), and intense extraction-style gameplay in Operations mode. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced criticism regarding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's approach, while aggressive, has drawn mixed reactions. While their G.T.I. Security team claims dedicated efforts, PC-specific restrictions have been met with skepticism.
Although mobile platforms generally present fewer cheating challenges, the initial PC controversy may impact overall perception. However, the mobile version's potential to deliver on its promise remains strong.
