Undertale creator Toby Fox has provided an update on the testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. Read on for details on console testing and what to expect.
Deltarune's Console Testing Progressing Smoothly
Save Transfers from Chapters 1 & 2

Toby Fox, via his Bluesky account, shared that console testing is underway. While much work remains, progress is positive. He noted, "Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)." Beyond bug fixes, the team is focusing on implementing save transfer functionality from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4. This feature, recently made possible by new technology, is a key goal: "I hope it works!"
With beta testing progressing well, a release date may be approaching. Fox has confirmed a 2025 release window for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4.
Introducing Tenna: A New Character Revealed

Amidst the development, Fox shared a humorous anecdote: "I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as ‘a cry for help because your game is not out’," His family found it positive, while a friend's reaction was "about 10 minutes straight" of laughter.

Speculation arose that this minigame might be for Chapter 5, given Fox's 2024 statement that Chapters 3 and 4 were content-complete. Deltarune is planned for seven chapters.
Further fueling anticipation, Fox mentioned, "Same friend who played Chapter 3 like over a year ago also told me ‘I miss Tenna’ and I was like ‘man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh’." Tenna, a previously unseen character first hinted at during the Spamton Sweepstakes in September 2022, is confirmed to appear in Chapter 3.

Deltarune, the successor to 2015's Undertale, retains many familiar mechanics while introducing a fresh narrative and characters. Players will continue the adventure with Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving quest.
