Here's the official description:
In Civilization VII - VR, the world of Civilization comes alive like never before. The game map unfolds on a Command Table, allowing you to zoom out for a strategic overview or zoom in for detailed views of buildings and units—a truly immersive tabletop experience. Engage face-to-face with iconic world leaders, witnessing their reactions as you forge alliances or wage war across the ages.
Play in immersive virtual reality or mixed reality, seamlessly switching between the two. In VR, you're transported to an ornate museum overlooking a vista personalized to your chosen leader; in mixed reality, the Command Table adapts to your physical space. Detailed dioramas showcasing your gameplay achievements are viewable in The Archives, a museum room accessible in both VR and mixed reality modes. Beyond single-player, compete for world domination in online multiplayer matches with up to three other Meta Quest 3 and 3S players.
The PC and console versions of Firaxis' 4X strategy sequel are currently available to early access purchasers. Steam user reviews have highlighted concerns regarding the user interface, a perceived lack of map variety, and the feeling that several expected features are missing at launch.
Firaxis has responded to this feedback, promising improvements to the UI, the addition of team-based multiplayer for cooperative play, a wider variety of map types, and other enhancements.
In an interview with IGN preceding the release of third-quarter financial results, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged negative reviews from both press and players, but expressed confidence that the "legacy Civ audience" will appreciate the game more with continued play, describing the game's early performance as "very encouraging."
