Navigating the vast, randomly-generated Synthwave world of the Overgrowth in Hyper Light Breaker can be a daunting task. However, the game provides a solution from the outset: the Hyper Light Breaker Hoverboard. This guide will walk you through how to summon and use your Hoverboard effectively, enhancing your movement speed to cover large distances quickly while managing your Energy.

How To Summon A Hoverboard In Hyper Light Breaker

To summon your Hoverboard and start sprinting, simply hold down the Dodge input. Your Breaker will dash forward and seamlessly transition onto the Hoverboard as long as you maintain the Dodge input.

Controlling the Hoverboard is straightforward. Use the left analog stick to lean and turn in the desired direction. The turning radius depends on your speed; at maximum velocity, turns are slower, but at lower speeds, you'll find the Hoverboard much more responsive.

To dismount, release the Dodge input. The Hoverboard will also automatically disappear if your Energy depletes while you're riding it. Keep an eye on your Energy level, displayed next to your Breaker's companion, and take breaks to allow it to recharge if it runs low.

Hoverboard Movement Tips & Special Uses

While you can't perform tricks or attack on the Hoverboard, it offers unique features that enhance gameplay. One significant advantage is its ability to float on water, allowing you to traverse inlets and rivers without detours.

To ride across water, ensure you're already on the Hoverboard as you approach. Regardless of your entry speed or height, the Hoverboard will resurface, enabling you to continue your journey smoothly.

Additionally, holding down the Jump input while on the Hoverboard allows you to duck and prepare for a jump. Although you can't double-jump, the increased speed helps cover greater distances, aiding in crossing wide gaps. Ducking doesn't boost your speed or jump height, but it helps in timing jumps accurately for challenging sections.
