Lies of P DLC Patched to Ease Excess Difficulty

Jan 01,2026 Author: Owen

Lies of P's DLC has been updated to lower enemy difficulty in New Game Plus and adjust the stats of select overworld monsters encountered during a first playthrough of Overture.

Director Jiwon Choi previously stated the team believed Soulslike titles like Lies of P shouldn't include difficulty settings, and the game launched without them. The studio has since reconsidered, explaining: “We wanted to ensure a broader range of players could enjoy the game."

Conversely, some players have voiced concerns over the DLC's "intended" difficulty tier, Legendary Stalker. Feedback on the DLC's heightened challenge—both positive and critical—was so voluminous that the Lies of P subreddit consolidated all discussion into a single megathread to prevent the community from being inundated. This prompted developer Neowiz to acknowledge that certain aspects "did not turn out quite as intended."

Play

Now, alongside squashing several bugs—like the progression halt after giving a bottle of beer to the Old Fisherman, or visual glitches triggered by specific gear—Neowiz has implemented "combat balance adjustments" with patch 1.9.0.0, released earlier today, June 20. Additionally, the DLC can now be accessed starting from Chapter 5 instead of Chapter 9 on all subsequent playthroughs.

Below are the complete patch notes, sourced from the Steam page.

If your inventory was full, these items may have been sent to Storage. Please check there as well. If you encountered this bug, update the game and attempt speaking with Salao again. Fixed a bug where using the Blade Fable Arts of "Monad's Rose Sword" in Hotel Krat while a record was playing would skip the current track. Fixed a bug where the "Solutionist's Amulet" effect persisted after unequipping the item. Fixed a visual issue with the Legion Arm "Flamberge" when wearing the "Blazing Death's Hunting Apparel." Fixed various minor issues, including incorrect icon displays, localization and text errors, enemy-related bugs, and other miscellaneous problems.

Developer Neowiz also confirmed today that Lies of P has surpassed 3 million copies sold.

Lies of P developer Neowiz surprise-released DLC Overture during Summer Game Fest, introducing new areas, enemies, bosses, characters, weapons, and the highly debated inclusion of two easier difficulty settings.

We enjoyed Lies of P, awarding it an 8/10. Overture also earned an 8/10. "Even while following a familiar tune, Lies of P: Overture is an excellent expansion that substantially enriches an already great game," we wrote.
