Monsters Rule: Sequel to 'The Cards, Universe and Everything' Unveiled

Jan 22,2025 Author: Joseph

In the world of gaming, rifts usually spell trouble. But Avid Games has embraced this chaos in Eerie Worlds, the highly anticipated sequel to Cards, the Universe and Everything. This tactical CCG keeps the fun and learning alive, but this time, the focus is on monsters—monsters emerging from those very rifts.

Avid Games has crafted a visually diverse roster of monsters, each inspired by real-world horrors from mythology and folklore.

The game boasts a truly global collection of creatures. Expect encounters with Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake, alongside Slavic monsters such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav. Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, El Chupacabra, and countless others—both terrifying and intriguing—populate this diverse bestiary. Each card features detailed, meticulously researched descriptions, ensuring an educational and captivating experience.

Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes. This layered system allows monsters to share some traits while differing in others, creating significant tactical depth.

Your monster collection is your Grimoire, upgradable by merging duplicate cards. While starting with 160 basic cards, merging unlocks many more, with additional cards planned for the near future.

Avid Games promises two more Hordes in the coming months, guaranteeing Eerie Worlds will remain challenging and engaging, no matter your level of expertise.

Gameplay involves a nine-card deck (eight monsters, one world card) and nine 30-second turns. Each turn demands strategic decisions about mana usage, synergy exploitation, and more.

Prepare for a deep and engaging experience. Eerie Worlds is available now—for free—on the Google Play Store and the App Store. [Link to download]
