Microids is bringing back the classic 1994 action-adventure game, Little Big Adventure, with a remastered edition titled Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest, launching this autumn on all major platforms. This updated version boasts modern enhancements while preserving the original's unique atmosphere. Developed by 2.21 and published by Microids, the game is a labor of love, reviving a title from the now-defunct Adeline Software International, a studio comprised of former Infogrames employees and the creators of the original Little Big Adventure games.
Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest features a complete visual overhaul and refined gameplay. Key improvements include a compelling narrative with thought-provoking themes, redesigned level layouts and controls, an enhanced version of Twinsen's signature weapon, a fresh artistic style, and a new soundtrack composed by Philippe Vachey, the original game's composer, and a collaborator with Frederick Raynal on the Alone in the Dark series.
The game's story unfolds on the planet Twinsun, home to four harmonious species. This peace is shattered by Dr. Funfrock's invention of cloning and teleportation, leading to his tyrannical rule. Players take on the role of Twinsen, embarking on a challenging adventure filled with complex puzzles and formidable enemies, with the ultimate goal of defeating Dr. Funfrock and restoring peace to Twinsun.
Little Big Adventure – Twinsen’s Quest: A Modern Reimagining of a Classic
Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) later this year. This release follows previous re-releases on GOG.com (PC and Mac in 2011) and mobile platforms (Android and iOS). The project, initiated as early as 2021, is the culmination of years of work by 2.21, a team led by Didier Chanfray, co-creator of the original game and a veteran of Time Commando.
