Osmos, the acclaimed cell-absorbing puzzle game, is back on Android! Previously removed due to playability issues stemming from outdated porting technology, it's now been resurrected by developer Hemisphere Games with a completely revamped port.
For those unfamiliar, Osmos is a unique, award-winning physics-based puzzle where you absorb smaller organisms while evading larger ones. Its simple yet engaging gameplay made it a hit, but Android users were left in the dark for years after its initial 2010 release.
Now, a brand-new, modern Android port is available on Google Play! Hemisphere Games explains in a blog post that the original Android version, developed with Apportable, became impossible to update after Apportable's closure. The game was subsequently removed due to incompatibility with current (64-bit) Android systems. This new version, however, is a completely rebuilt port, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Osmos offers a nostalgic experience, reminiscent of a time when mobile gaming felt limitless. While many excellent mobile puzzle games exist, few match Osmos' captivating aesthetic and gameplay.
